Job Description

The Quality Inspector performs visual quality checks on finished goods within a plastics manufacturing environment, ensuring products meet established quality standards and procedures. This role focuses on identifying surface defects, following documented quality processes, and supporting overall quality assurance and control activities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough visual inspections of finished goods to identify surface defects and nonconformities.
  • Perform basic auditing activities for inspection, process, and product audits in accordance with quality standards.
  • Follow established quality procedures and documentation consistently during all inspection tasks.
  • Record inspection results accurately and report any quality issues or deviations from specifications.
  • Assist in basic analysis and problem solving related to product quality concerns.
  • Make sound decisions based on inspection findings to determine product acceptance or rejection.
  • Maintain a clean and organized inspection area to support efficient and accurate quality checks.
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to support continuous improvement of quality processes.

Essential Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to notice subtle surface defects during visual inspection.
  • Basic auditing skills for inspection, process, and product audits.
  • Basic analysis, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in a quality-focused environment.
  • Good visual acuity for inspecting finished goods and identifying quality issues.
  • Ability to follow and adhere to established quality procedures and processes.
  • Prior quality experience is highly preferred, particularly in inspection or quality control.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance and quality control concepts.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with visual quality inspection in a manufacturing setting.
  • Previous experience in quality processes, including inspection and documentation.
  • Understanding of quality assurance and quality control methodologies.
  • Comfort working with finished goods in a plastics manufacturing environment.

Work Environment

This role is based in a plastics manufacturing facility with a well-lit and organized work area designed to support accurate visual inspections and safe operations. Work is primarily performed on-site around production and finished goods, with frequent interaction with quality and production personnel in a structured, process-driven environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Suwanee, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
