Location: Kissimmee, FL 34741
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Schedule: Per Diem | Monday–Friday coverage
Clinic Hours: 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
Hours: Variable; no guaranteed weekly hours
Assignment: November 2026 – November 2027
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to provide per diem coverage in a fast-paced outpatient clinic. This role combines both front-office administrative responsibilities and back-office clinical duties, making it ideal for a versatile Medical Assistant who is comfortable supporting patients throughout the entire clinic experience.
The Medical Assistant will assist with patient intake, scheduling, insurance verification, clinical procedures, laboratory work, and general administrative support while delivering excellent patient service.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and check in patients and complete required documentation.
- Verify patient insurance coverage, eligibility, membership, and benefits.
- Schedule patient appointments and assist with appointment coordination.
- Answer and triage incoming telephone calls according to department procedures.
- Route calls appropriately and take accurate messages when needed.
- Obtain and document patient vital signs.
- Administer immunizations and injections within scope of practice.
- Perform point-of-care testing.
- Perform blood draws and other laboratory-related duties.
- Assist with occupational health testing.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Participate in department meetings and required in-service training.
- Cross-train on new procedures and support other departments as operational needs require.
- Provide professional, compassionate, and efficient customer service to patients and team members.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience performing both front-office and back-office duties.
- Demonstrated phlebotomy experience in a clinical work environment.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent Medical Assistant certification.
- Current CPR certification required.
- Strong computer and clinical documentation skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Dependable, responsible, and adaptable to changing clinic needs.
Schedule Details
This is a per diem position designed primarily to provide coverage for staff vacations and other clinic needs. The clinic operates Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Weekly hours are not guaranteed, so candidates should have flexibility to accept shifts based on coverage needs.
