Job Description
Make a positive impact on the lives of elementary school students by providing essential social work services in an engaging, supportive educational environment. This full-time contract opportunity focuses on supporting K-5th grade students, helping them overcome social, emotional, and behavioral challenges to maximize their learning and development. Work directly within a dedicated school community, providing onsite assistance throughout the academic year.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois School Social Worker (SSW) license and PEL required
- Demonstrated experience as a school social worker or in a similar school-based setting
- Expertise in supporting elementary-aged children with diverse social and emotional needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, faculty, and families
- Familiarity with MTSS/RTI frameworks, crisis intervention, and case management within schools
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and indirect social work services to elementary students in grades K-5
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other school staff to develop and implement effective intervention strategies
- Conduct assessments, develop individualized student plans, and monitor progress
- Serve as a liaison for families, connecting them with school and community resources
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of student support teams
- Support social-emotional learning initiatives, classroom management, and positive school culture
- Maintain thorough and confidential case records in line with school guidelines
This full-time, onsite role runs from ASAP through November 4th, 2026, with the potential for extension based on school needs. The position is based in Sugar Grove, IL, with working hours from 8:00 AM to 3:35 PM, ensuring a predictable day and strong work-life balance.
