Forklift Driver

Pay: $17.47-$21.21 per hour

Shift: 3:00pm-11:30pm

Job description:

Key Responsibilities & Essential Duties

• Equipment Operation: Operate powered industrial vehicles (gas, diesel, electric, or propane) equipped with forklifts, buckets, or elevating platforms to transport materials, goods, and equipment.
• Loading & Unloading: Safely load and unload freight, pallets, and raw or finished materials from freight trucks, storage racks, and staging areas.
• Material Movement & Staging: Move stock throughout warehouse or manufacturing areas to designated storage, production, or shipping locations.
• Inspection & Maintenance: Perform routine pre-operation and post-operation vehicle checks (e.g., checking fluid levels, tires, battery charge, propane tanks, and hydraulic systems) and report any mechanical issues immediately.
• Inventory & Cargo Security: Ensure loads are stable, properly balanced, and secured prior to movement; assist with cycle counts and material tracking as required.
• Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to OSHA safety guidelines, site-specific safety protocols, speed limits, and load capacity rules to maintain a safe work environment.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED) equivalent, or relevant vocational training.
• Experience: 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience operating powered industrial trucks in a manufacturing, warehouse, or logistics environment.
• Certifications: Industrial Truck / Forklift Operator Certification (or willingness to obtain site-specific certification upon hire).

Key Competencies & Physical Demands

• Core Skills: Spatial awareness, accurate load estimation, spatial coordination, and basic equipment maintenance troubleshooting.
• Attributes: Strong focus on workplace safety, attention to detail, reliability, and clear communication with team members and floor supervisors.
• Physical Effort: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, sit/stand for extended periods, and operate controls requiring fine motor skills in various environmental conditions (indoor/outdoor).
