Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Corporate Benefits Specialist for a contract opportunity in Rochester, NY. This role is ideal for an experienced benefits professional who enjoys supporting employees, partnering with HR and payroll teams, and ensuring benefit programs are administered accurately and compliantly.
The Corporate Benefits Specialist will support a wide range of employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, prescription drug, well-being, COBRA, HIPAA, retirement, financial, and voluntary benefits. This opportunity offers a collaborative HR environment where strong communication, accuracy, customer service, and process improvement are valued. The role provides the chance to contribute to benefits operations, open enrollment, vendor coordination, and employee support while working with a team focused on service, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer employee benefit programs, including health and welfare, Section 125, retirement, financial, COBRA, HIPAA, and voluntary benefit plans.
- Process benefit enrollments, qualified life events, beneficiary updates, leave of absence changes, employee status updates, and eligibility transactions.
- Respond to employee and manager benefit inquiries while providing accurate guidance and a positive customer service experience.
- Support annual open enrollment activities, including communication, system readiness, vendor coordination, issue resolution, and reporting.
- Partner with HR, Payroll, Legal, vendors, brokers, consultants, and third-party administrators to resolve issues and support benefits operations.
- Audit vendor invoices, process file feed transfers, maintain documentation, and contribute to process improvement and system enhancement initiatives.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay Rate: $24.50 per hour.
- Employment Type: 4+ month contract.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST.
- Hours: 40 hours per week.
- Location: Rochester, NY 14625.
- Exemption Status: Non-exempt.
