Job Title

Registered Nurse – ICU / Stepdown

Location

Abilene, TX | Stepdown ICU

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00) | 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period | On-call once every 6 weeks

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in a Stepdown ICU setting, managing both low-acuity ICU patients and high-acuity telemetry patients
• Deliver comprehensive care consistent with ICU standards, excluding the management of ventilated patients
• Monitor, assess, and respond to changes in patient condition across a mixed-acuity unit
• Participate in on-call rotation approximately once every 6-week scheduling period
• Complete required orientation modules during scheduled orientation period

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in hand required at time of submittal
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Current certifications must be verifiable
• Must be available to complete required lab items within 72 hours of accepting an offer, or have a documented plan in place within that timeframe
• Candidates must reside more than 150 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
• Previous permanent staff at this facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Candidates must be able to pass a facility-administered drug screen upon arrival, which includes marijuana and CBD products; a positive result will result in automatic cancellation with no exceptions

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Altera charting system preferred, but not required
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
