Job Description
Staff Software Engineer — Infrastructure
\nSeries C | Payments Infrastructure | Remote US | Up to $250K Base + Equity
\nWe’re partnered with a high-growth Series C fintech building infrastructure for the next generation of money movement. The company has raised $200M+, has strong product-market fit, and is scaling a platform that enables businesses to move money reliably across traditional payment rails and newer technologies.
\nThey’re now looking for a Staff-level Software Engineer to help shape the infrastructure and platform behind that growth.
\nThe Role
\nThis is not a traditional DevOps or SRE role.
\nThey’re looking for a senior/staff engineer who is genuinely strong in Infrastructure / Platform Engineering, but is also a real software engineer and coder. You should be comfortable going beyond writing scripts or Terraform and be able to understand and contribute to the application layer, backend systems and application architecture.
\nYou’ll work across:
\n- \n
- AWS & cloud infrastructure \n
- Terraform / Infrastructure as Code \n
- Docker & containerised environments \n
- CI/CD & developer tooling \n
- Platform / Developer Experience \n
- Databases & distributed systems \n
- Application architecture and backend engineering \n
- Reliability, observability and security \n
You’ll help build internal platforms that abstract infrastructure complexity away from product engineers, improve how teams develop and deploy software, and influence the architecture and technical direction of systems operating at significant scale.
\nWhat We’re Looking For
\n- \n
- 8+ years of software, infrastructure or platform engineering experience \n
- Strong Infrastructure / Platform Engineering background \n
- Excellent AWS and Terraform/IaC experience \n
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, CI/CD, Docker and production infrastructure \n
- Strong coding ability in Ruby or Python — this is important; they need someone who is a software engineer, not an infrastructure engineer who occasionally writes scripts \n
- Genuine understanding of application architecture and backend systems \n
- Experience building internal platforms, developer tooling or infrastructure that enables product engineering teams \n
- Staff-level ability to influence architecture and technical direction without direct authority \n
Experience with payments, financial infrastructure or high-volume transactional systems is a bonus, but isn't essential.
\nRemote across the US, with hybrid options in NYC or San Francisco.
\nCompensation: up to $250K base + equity.
