About this job
Job Description
About the Role
\nARC is evolving from an automotive warranty agency into an automotive third-party administration company, including reinsurance and other participation programs, launching in January 2027. We need an experienced claims professional to design, build, and run the claims department.
\nThis is a builder's seat with real authority. You'll set the standards, write the procedures, choose the vendors, and own the results. If you know how claims should be done and want to build a department the right way, this role was written for you.
\nYou Will Start as a Team of One
\nThis is a new department. On day one, there is no claims team, no existing playbook, and no one to delegate to. You will design the system, configure the software, write the manual, and adjudicate claims yourself. As volume grows, you'll hire and train the team you designed the department around.
\nThis role is a strong fit if you'd rather build a system correctly than inherit one built by someone else, and if you do your best work with independence, clear goals, and the authority to make decisions.
\nLocation Requirement
\nThis role works in person at ARC headquarters in Clinton, Missouri, Monday through Friday, starting on day one. It is not remote or hybrid. Candidates who live outside commuting distance must relocate to the Clinton area within six months of their start date.
\nWe know a move takes time, so we've built the transition to protect your family:
\n- \n
- A furnished company condo in Clinton for up to six months \n
- Round-trip travel home on weekends and holidays during the transition \n
- A company vehicle while you're in company housing \n
- Help with moving costs when your family relocates \n
You can sell your home on a reasonable timeline and let your kids finish the school year without either one holding up your start.
\nLife in Clinton, Missouri
\nClinton is the county seat of Henry County, with a population of about 9,000, located 80 miles southeast of Kansas City. You get small-town living with big-city airports, sports, and shopping about an hour and a half away.
\n- \n
- Housing you can afford. Home values in Henry County run well below the Kansas City metro and the national average, so your salary goes further here. \n
- Healthcare close to home. Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare is an independent, nonprofit health system based in Clinton that has received an "A" Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade. It includes a 56-bed hospital, a 24/7 emergency department, and more than 60 medical specialists in fields such as cardiology, oncology, and orthopedics. \n
- Schools and education. Clinton has its own public school district, and State Fair Community College operates a Clinton campus for continuing education close to home. \n
- Truman Lake. Truman is the largest flood control lake in Missouri, covering about 56,000 acres, and has a national reputation for crappie and bass fishing. \n
- The Katy Trail. Clinton is the western end of Katy Trail State Park, the nation's longest rails-to-trails project, for biking, walking, and running. \n
- A real downtown. Locals point out that Clinton has the largest town square in Missouri, lined with local shops and restaurants. \n
- A community for the whole family. Clinton has a wide range of churches across denominations, active youth sports leagues, and school activities that bring families together. Community traditions such as the Olde Glory Days summer celebration and events on the square make it easy to get involved, at whatever pace suits you. \n
What You'll Do
\nBuild (now through launch)
\n- \n
- Design the department's structure, workflows, authority limits, and reserving practices. \n
- Lead implementation of our claims administration software, including configuration, scripts, and processes. \n
- Source, evaluate, negotiate with, and onboard vendors for 24/7 roadside assistance, rental car services, and dealership inspection. \n
- Write ARC's claims manual: the standards every future decision and every future hire will follow. \n
Run (after launch)
\n- \n
- Adjudicate ancillary claims personally: tire and wheel, key replacement, dent repair, windshield, bundle products, theft contracts, limited warranties, and appearance protection. \n
- Own quality, including documentation standards, audit trails, and regular claims audits. \n
- Hold vendors to defined service levels and report department metrics weekly. \n
Expand (within 12 months)
\n- \n
- Add vehicle service contract (VSC) claims and additional product lines as we grow. \n
- Hire, train, and lead the claims team as volume requires. \n
What We're Looking For
\n- \n
- 5+ years of claims experience, including supervisory or management experience. Experience with VSC, ancillary products, or an administrator/TPA is strongly preferred. \n
- A record of designing or significantly improving a claims process, not just following one. \n
- Precise, objective, evidence-based judgment. You make decisions from contract language and policy, and you can explain and defend them. \n
- Depth over breadth: you know claims thoroughly and hold yourself to a high standard of accuracy. \n
- The independence to work without close supervision, plus the willingness to be measured on clear results. \n
- Comfort doing the work yourself while you build the system that will eventually be run by a team. \n
- Comfort saying no to dealers, vendors, and leadership when the contract says no. \n
Compensation and Benefits
\n- \n
- Base salary of $120,000–$135,000, depending on experience \n
- Quarterly performance bonus, targeted at 2.5% of base, tied to company results and your quarterly Rocks, including the department's launch milestones \n
- Relocation package: up to six months in a furnished company condo, a company vehicle, weekend and holiday travel home, and help with moving costs \n
- Full benefits package \n
- Paid professional training and certifications \n
- A clear path to a VP of Claims role as the department grows \n
About ARC
\nARC is an automotive consulting, training, and reinsurance company serving dealers nationwide, with a long record of year-over-year growth. We run on EOS, so every seat has clear roles, measurable goals, and real accountability. You'll report to our VP of Operations and have the authority to run your department without micromanagement. We're a small, values-driven team in Clinton, Missouri, where the cost of living is well below that of nearby metro areas.
\nVeterans are highly encouraged to apply.
\nPay: $120,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
\nBenefits:
\n- \n
- 401(k) \n
- Dental insurance \n
- Health insurance \n
- Health savings account \n
- Life insurance \n
- Paid time off \n
- Relocation assistance \n
- Retirement plan \n
- Vision insurance \n
