Turn Your CAD Skills Into Real-World SolutionsDo you enjoy designing mechanical components, creating detailed CAD models, and seeing your work come to life on the manufacturing floor? Apparent Technologies is looking for a Mechanical Drafter with strong SolidWorks skills and hands-on manufacturing experience to support mechanical design, prototype development, and production operations.
Location: Austin, Texas (onsite)
Pay: $22–$28 per hour

- Create detailed manufacturing drawings, 3D CAD models, and 2D production prints using SolidWorks.
- Develop and modify mechanical components, assemblies, and production fixtures.
- Support prototype builds and collaborate with the engineering team to refine designs.
- Work with manufacturing personnel to troubleshoot production issues and improve designs.
- Apply drawing standards, dimensioning practices, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Convert 3D models into accurate 2D drawings for manufacturing and assembly.
- Help identify production challenges and collaborate with management on practical, long-term solutions.
- At least 2 years of experience using 3D CAD software.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks.
- At least 1 year of manufacturing-floor or production-line experience, preferably in the semiconductor industry.
- Experience creating CAD models, assembly drawings, and manufacturing prints.
- Understanding of mechanical components, assemblies, drawing standards, and dimensioning.
- Basic knowledge of GD&T.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and apply design requirements to manufacturing processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively with engineering and manufacturing teams.
- Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) experience.
- Familiarity with welding and/or machining equipment.
- Experience designing mechanical fixtures or supporting prototype builds.
- An interest in hands-on mechanical design and manufacturing problem-solving.
This is a full-time, onsite position based in Austin, Texas, ZIP code 78753. The selected candidate must be able to report to the Austin facility for work.
Candidates who would need to relocate should be prepared to establish their residence in the Austin area before starting.
