Wilson Care and Rehab in Wilson, KS is hiring a part-time Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join our skilled nursing and long-term care team.

CMA Pay & Benefits (for Full-time positions)
  • $19.00–$20.90 per hour, based on experience

  • $2.00 per hour CARES bonus for qualifying full-time employees

  • Weekend differential of up to $3.00 per hour

  • Full-time position

  • 12-hour shifts, 6:00 AM–6:00 PM

  • Consistent 14-day rotating schedule

  • 3-day weekend every other weekend

  • Never work more than 3 consecutive days

  • 7 days off every 14-day schedule cycle

Additional Earning Opportunities

Qualifying full-time CMAs have the opportunity to earn a $2.00 per hour CARES bonus in addition to their base hourly rate. A weekend differential of up to $3.00 per hour is also available for qualifying weekend hours.

A Day in the Life of a Certified Medication Aide (CMA)

As a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) at Wilson Care and Rehab, you play an important role in providing safe, compassionate care to our residents. Working under the direction and supervision of a licensed nurse, you will assist with medication administration and direct resident care while helping create a positive and supportive environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Administer medications to residents as directed by physician orders and in accordance with state regulations and facility policies

  • Follow medication administration procedures and accurately document medications given

  • Observe residents for medication effectiveness, adverse reactions, and changes in condition

  • Promptly report changes in residents' condition, behavior, appetite, attitude, or other concerns to the licensed nurse

  • Provide direct resident care and assistance with activities of daily living as needed

  • Assist residents with personal care, mobility, meals, hydration, and other daily needs

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation

  • Follow infection prevention, safety, and resident care procedures

  • Maintain resident confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements

  • Protect resident rights, dignity, privacy, and independence

  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, nurses, CNAs, and other members of the healthcare team

  • Build positive relationships with residents and their families

  • Respond to resident needs with compassion, patience, and professionalism

  • Follow all facility policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

  • Participate in creating a safe, respectful, and positive environment for residents and coworkers

Qualifications for a Certified Medication Aide (CMA)Required Qualifications
  • Current Certified Medication Aide (CMA) certification/license in Kansas

  • Current CPR certification

  • Ability to safely administer medications in accordance with applicable regulations, physician orders, and facility policies

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document medication administration and resident care

  • Dependable, professional, and compassionate approach to resident care

  • Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a healthcare team

  • Desire to work with and serve older adults

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Certified Medication Aide (CMA), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Medication Aide, or nursing assistant

  • Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, assisted living, geriatric care, or rehabilitation

  • Experience with medication administration and electronic medical records

  • Knowledge of resident rights, infection prevention, and long-term care regulations

Work Schedule

Our 14-day rotating schedule is designed to provide consistency while giving you meaningful time away from work:

  • Week 1: Friday

  • Week 2: Friday

  • PRN hours available in addition to this schedule
