Join our team in Mobile, AL 36608 as a Structural Steel Fabrication Welder. Your craft will shape heavy steel components into safe, reliable structures. You will translate drawings into precise welds, keep projects on schedule, and uphold the highest bar for quality and safety.

A day in this role

You start by reviewing blueprints and technical schematics, planning the sequence of joints and materials. You set up your station, select the appropriate process (GMAW/MIG, GTAW/TIG, SMAW/Stick, or FCAW), and get to work laying down clean, consistent beads. Throughout the day, you verify fit-up, check tolerances, and inspect welds against specifications. You collaborate with other fabricators and supervisors to hit milestones and budget targets, all while maintaining a spotless, safe work area and performing routine care on your equipment. You wrap up by documenting work, addressing any rework, and lining up tools for the next shift.

What you will tackle
  • Decode blueprints and technical drawings to determine joint design, materials, and welding parameters
  • Execute production and assembly welds using MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux-Cored processes on a range of metals
  • Verify weld quality through visual checks and measurements to meet specifications and codes
  • Champion safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workstation
  • Partner with teammates to deliver projects on time and within budget
  • Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on welding equipment
  • Engage in ongoing training to sharpen technique and expand certifications
What you bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent; welding certifications (e.g., AWS) preferred
  • Demonstrated experience as a structural welder in manufacturing or construction
  • Solid understanding of welding processes, base metals/fillers, and safety standards
  • Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Keen attention to detail with strong problem-solving ability
  • Comfort working independently and within a team environment
  • Physical stamina and strength to work in varied conditions
