Position OverviewAspire Senior Living Roaring River is seeking compassionate and dependable Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to join our nursing team.
As a Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), you'll provide essential hands-on care and support to residents under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. You'll assist with activities of daily living, promote comfort and independence, observe changes in resident condition, and help create a safe and supportive environment.
Our CNAs are an important part of each resident's day. Beyond providing excellent care, you'll have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships and make a difference in the lives of the residents we serve.
What You'll DoResident Care & Activities of Daily Living
Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, personal hygiene, and other activities of daily living (ADLs).
Assist residents with transfers, positioning, turning, walking, and mobility according to their individual care plans.
Provide assistance with meals, feeding, hydration, and nutritional needs as appropriate.
Promote resident independence by encouraging residents to participate in their care to the best of their abilities.
Provide compassionate care while maintaining resident comfort, safety, privacy, and dignity.
Observation & Reporting
Observe residents for changes in physical condition, behavior, mood, cognition, mobility, skin condition, or overall well-being.
Promptly report changes or concerns to the licensed nurse.
Measure and record vital signs as directed, including temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
Monitor and document intake and output as required.
Accurately document care provided and resident observations according to facility policies and care plans.
Mobility & Rehabilitation Support
Assist residents with range-of-motion exercises, ambulation, positioning, and restorative or rehabilitation programs as directed.
Follow nursing and therapy recommendations designed to support resident mobility and independence.
Utilize appropriate transfer techniques and equipment to help maintain resident and employee safety.
Follow individualized care plans and safety precautions.
Resident Engagement & Support
Build positive and respectful relationships with residents.
Provide companionship, encouragement, reassurance, and emotional support.
Encourage residents to participate in activities, social programs, and community events.
Support residents' individual preferences, routines, choices, and goals.
Help create an environment where residents feel valued, respected, and at home.
Safety & Infection Prevention
Follow infection prevention and control procedures, standard precautions, and facility safety practices.
Use personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately.
Practice proper hand hygiene and maintain a clean resident-care environment.
Follow fall-prevention and resident-safety procedures.
Immediately report safety concerns, incidents, or changes in resident condition to nursing leadership.
Teamwork & Communication
Work collaboratively with nurses, fellow CNAs, Therapy, Dietary, Social Services, Activities, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
Communicate important resident information during shift changes and throughout the workday.
Follow resident care plans and nursing instructions.
Maintain resident confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of employment required.
Completion of a state-approved Nurse Aide Training Program as required.
Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, senior living, or healthcare preferred, but not required where applicable.
Compassionate and respectful approach to caring for older adults.
Dependable with a strong commitment to resident care and safety.
Ability to recognize and promptly report changes in resident condition.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritize responsibilities and manage time effectively.
Ability to work independently while also being a dependable member of the nursing team.
Understanding of basic infection prevention and resident-safety practices.
Commitment to protecting resident rights, dignity, privacy, and confidentiality.
Being a Certified Nursing Assistant is about more than completing daily care tasks.
