Job Summary
Are you an experienced MIG Welder looking for a steady manufacturing opportunity with a four-day workweek? We're seeking a MIG Welder to join a growing manufacturing team in Elkhart, IN. In this role, you'll weld 11–16 gauge steel tubing to precise specifications while maintaining high production and quality standards.
The ideal candidate has experience with light to mid-gauge steel fabrication and is comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
What You'll Be Doing
As a MIG Welder, your core responsibilities will include:
- MIG Welding: Perform MIG welding on 11–16 gauge steel tubing.
- Blueprint Reading: Read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols.
- Equipment Setup: Set up and adjust welding equipment according to material specifications.
- Quality Standards: Ensure welds meet required quality, strength, and appearance standards.
- Weld Inspection: Inspect finished welds and make corrections as needed.
- Production: Maintain consistent production output throughout the shift.
- Safety: Follow established safety and quality procedures.
- Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work area.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications
- Previous MIG welding experience required.
- 1 year of professional welding experience preferred; hobby welding experience will be considered.
- Experience welding 11–16 gauge steel tubing preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols.
- Strong understanding of welding techniques and metal properties.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
Skills
- MIG Welding: Proficiency with MIG welding processes.
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to accurately follow blueprints and weld symbols.
- Tube Welding & Fabrication: Experience working with steel tubing and fabrication processes.
- Quality Inspection: Ability to inspect and measure completed welds for accuracy and quality.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on producing consistent, quality work.
- Hand-Eye Coordination: Ability to maintain accuracy and control throughout the welding process.
