Technician

KT Diesel & Equipment LLC is seeking a Technician to join our team in Minden, NE, in a Hybrid work setting.

Position Summary

The Technician role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel equipment and related systems to ensure reliable performance and safety. You will work with a hands-on mindset, applying technical knowledge and disciplined troubleshooting to deliver high-quality service.

This full-time position supports operational needs through timely repair work, thorough inspections, and clear communication with team members. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and committed to continuous improvement in day-to-day technical performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical issues through inspection, testing, and systematic troubleshooting of diesel equipment and components

• Perform repairs and routine maintenance, including replacing worn parts and adjusting systems for proper operation

• Conduct preventive maintenance services to reduce downtime and support long-term equipment reliability

• Maintain accurate service records, including work performed, findings, and parts used

• Follow safety procedures and quality standards to ensure repairs are completed correctly and safely

Required Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical or diesel equipment service, repair, or maintenance

• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify root causes

• Working knowledge of mechanical systems and safe tool practices

• Ability to read and interpret technical information such as schematics, manuals, and job instructions

• Commitment to safety standards and consistent, dependable work performance

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience servicing diesel engines, transmissions, or heavy equipment systems

• Familiarity with electrical and hydraulic system troubleshooting

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

• Experience documenting work clearly and communicating service needs proactively

Compensation

Hourly rate: $22.00 - $32.00
