Job Description
General Purpose:
The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing transportation, dispatch, fleet coordination, customer service, and logistics operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of products and services. This role leads transportation and customer service teams, manages carrier and fleet operations, drives operational excellence, ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, and supports revenue growth through exceptional customer service and continuous process improvement.
Main Responsibilities:
• Oversee all transportation, dispatch, routing, tracking, and fleet activities.
• Coordinate company-owned fleet operations and third-party carrier relationships to ensure efficient and reliable product delivery.
• Direct daily dispatching and routing activities to maximize operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Monitor transportation performance, equipment utilization, and route effectiveness.
• Lead customer service operations supporting customers, sales teams, and logistics functions.
• Ensure a seamless customer experience from order entry through delivery and post-sales support.
• Develop strong partnerships with customers, sales teams, operations personnel, and external service providers.
• Coordinate delivery, procurement, repair, and recovery of equipment as needed.
• Analyze operational data, transportation costs, route structures, and service requirements to recommend improvements and optimize logistics performance.
• Facilitate daily operational meetings to review schedules, orders, delivery commitments, and upcoming projects.
Qualifications:
Education
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
Experience
• 5+ years of logistics, transportation, customer service, sales operations, or supply chain experience.
• 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Experience with transportation dispatch, fleet operations, customer service management, and process improvement preferred.
• Experience with order management, dispatching, and transportation systems preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Strong knowledge of transportation and logistics operations.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation compliance requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong customer service orientation and relationship management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience utilizing logistics, dispatch, and operational reporting systems.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
Licenses & Certifications
• Valid Driver's License required.
