Documentation & Medication Management

  • Maintain complete, accurate, and timely medication documentation.

  • Review medication information and communicate questions, discrepancies, or changes to licensed nursing staff.

  • Follow procedures for medication orders, pharmacy deliveries, discontinued medications, and medication changes.

  • Immediately report medication errors, missing medications, refusals, adverse reactions, or other concerns to the appropriate licensed nurse.

  • Maintain resident confidentiality and follow applicable privacy requirements.

Medication Storage & Inventory

  • Maintain clean, secure, and organized medication carts and medication storage areas.

  • Monitor medication supplies and notify nursing staff or pharmacy personnel of shortages or discrepancies.

  • Assist with medication inventory and recordkeeping as required.

  • Follow appropriate procedures regarding medication storage, security, refrigeration, and expiration dates.

Safety, Infection Prevention & Quality

  • Follow medication safety procedures and infection prevention practices.

  • Maintain compliance with facility policies and applicable state and federal requirements.

  • Participate in required CMT education, competency evaluations, and training.

  • Support quality-improvement and medication-safety initiatives.

  • Report resident concerns or changes in condition promptly to licensed nursing staff.

  • Perform other duties as assigned and within the CMT's authorized scope of practice.
