Keep the Equipment Behind the Toughest Jobs Running

At Dan-Kel Concrete Cutting, our crews perform specialized services including concrete sawing, core drilling, hydrodemolition, robotic demolition, and surface preparation. The success of every project depends on reliable equipment, well-maintained trucks, and a mechanic who can keep our fleet operating safely and efficiently.

We're looking for a skilled Heavy Equipment & Fleet Mechanic who enjoys diagnosing problems, performing repairs, and helping support a fast-moving operation. This position is responsible for maintaining the trucks, trailers, diesel-powered equipment, hydraulic systems, generators, pumps, and specialty concrete cutting equipment that our field teams depend on every day.

If you take pride in solving mechanical challenges and want to be part of a company that values hard work, accountability, and continuous improvement, we'd like to hear from you.

What You'll Be Responsible For:

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel-related issues across a diverse fleet of trucks, trailers, and specialty construction equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Service hydrodemolition units, pumps, generators, compressors, robotic demolition equipment, and concrete cutting equipment.
  • Troubleshoot engine, hydraulic, brake, suspension, electrical, and driveline systems.
  • Perform DOT inspections and ensure fleet compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate repair priorities with operations personnel to keep active projects supported.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and equipment service histories.
  • Identify equipment needs and make recommendations for repairs or replacement.
  • Assist with emergency equipment repairs when required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused shop environment.

What We're Looking For:

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience repairing heavy equipment, diesel trucks, construction equipment, or fleet vehicles.
  • Strong mechanical diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience working with hydraulic systems and diesel-powered equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple repair priorities.
  • Own mechanic hand tools.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on hydrodemolition, concrete cutting, demolition, or specialty construction equipment.
  • Experience with pumps, generators, compressors, and trailer-mounted equipment.
  • CDL license.
  • Welding and fabrication experience.
  • Knowledge of electrical troubleshooting and hydraulic diagnostics.

Physical Requirements

  • Lift and carry 50 pounds or more.
  • Work in confined spaces and underneath vehicles and equipment.
  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb throughout the workday.
  • Work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.

Benefits

  • Competitive pay based on experience
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Life insurance
  • Paid vacation and holidays
  • Career advancement opportunities
  • Family-oriented culture focused on teamwork and professional growth
