A Day in the Life

Based in Mobile, AL, you’ll arrive to a clean, organized work area where precision matters. You’ll study detailed blueprints, lay out steel, and bring beams, columns, and trusses together with exacting fit-up. With welding machines, grinders, and cutting torches at your side, you’ll assemble structural components that meet rigorous quality and safety standards—every time.

What You’ll Do

• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to define dimensions, tolerances, and sequence of work.
• Lay out, fit, and assemble structural steel elements such as beams, columns, and trusses.
• Operate welding equipment, grinders, and cutting torches to prepare and join components.
• Follow all safety procedures and industry standards throughout fabrication and installation.
• Coordinate with teammates to hit project milestones and schedules.
• Verify accuracy with quality checks to ensure alignment, squareness, and durability.
• Maintain a tidy, efficient workstation and handle materials safely.

What You Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in welding or metal fabrication is a plus.
• Hands-on experience as a structural steel fitter or closely related role.
• Working knowledge of welding techniques and metal fabrication processes.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and practical problem-solving abilities.
• Commitment to safety practices and consistent quality.
• Effective communicator and reliable team contributor.
• Physical stamina and strength to move and position heavy materials and equipment.
