Job Breakdown – Cath Lab Tech
Position: Cath Lab Tech
Schedule: 4 × 10-hour days
Hours: 6:30 AM–5:00 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 36/week
Contract: 13 weeks
Start: 10/26/2026
Call: Required
Facility
- Short-Term Acute Care Hospital
- Level IV Trauma Center
- Major teaching hospital
- 838 staffed beds
- Charting: Cerner
- Scrubs: Provided
- Parking: Free for travelers
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year Cath Lab experience in the initial posting
- Must be competent in both diagnostic and interventional Cath Lab procedures
- Structural heart experience required
- First-time Cath Lab travelers are NOT accepted
- The compliance section also states minimum 2 years RN experience, so this should be verified based on the candidate's discipline/role.
- RCIS alone is NOT accepted as a license to work in the Cath Lab in WV.
Required Skills
Candidate should be comfortable with:
- Diagnostic & interventional cardiac cath
- Adult diagnostic catheterization
- PCI / PTCA
- Cardiac stent placement
- Left heart catheterization
- IABP placement/removal
- Cardiac implant/closure devices
- Scrubbing and circulating
- Maintaining sterile field
- Equipment setup
- Recognition/interpretation of life-threatening arrhythmias
Certifications
- BLS – AHA
- ACLS – AHA
- PALS if required by the unit
Call Requirements 🚨
- 30-minute response time
- Weekend call only for scheduled weekend coverage
- Call weekend runs Friday 7:00 PM → Monday 7:00 AM
- Rotating primary and backup call
- Weekday call may also apply
Radius / License
- 100-mile radius rule
- Permanent address must be 100+ miles from the facility
- Candidates 75–99 miles may be considered case-by-case at the same rate
- WV or Compact license required
- Pending WV license can be submitted, but active WV license must be in hand before starting
- ARRT registration required
