Description
American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a Cardiac/Interventional Radiology suite requiring ARRT certification and 1+ year of experience.
Details
- Interventional vascular radiology suite performing peripheral angiography/venography with intervention, EVAR, TEVAR, carotid stenting, and neuro-intervention including acute stroke and embolization
- Average daily census of 7-10 patients
- 4x10 hour day shifts, typically 7:30 AM-6:00 PM, Monday-Friday
- On-call rotation required, approximately 8 days a month including 1 weekend per month, with 30-minute response time
- Every third weekend required (5-6 total during contract)
- Floating required to a sister facility 2 miles away for 1 week
- Uses PACS system and fluoroscopy equipment (Siemens and ultrasound preferred)
- Charts in Cerner
Requirements
- ARRT certification required (RCIS not accepted)
- Minimum 1 year of experience required
- BLS certification required; Vascular Intervention certification preferred
- State license required if applicable
- Proficiency in sterile technique, EKG lead placement, access site prep, equipment setup, and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
- Experience with vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose)
- Experience as room circulator and scrub maintaining sterile field
- Cerner charting experience preferred
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include accurate patient monitoring, equipment setup, EKG lead placement, access site preparation, and maintaining sterile fields during procedures
- Role includes equipment maintenance, inventory management, and supply stocking
- Level IV Trauma Center and major teaching hospital, member of the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems
- 838 staffed beds
- Blue surgical scrubs issued by facility
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1-March 31) unless medically exempt; not required outside that window
- First-time travelers accepted
- Open to accommodating blocked schedule requests within reason, to be discussed at interview
- Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility; those between 60-99 miles may be considered with facility approval
- Former permanent employees must wait 2 years from last permanent employment date before returning as a traveler
- Current employees of the broader health system (including sister facilities) are not eligible for travel contracts within the system
