Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 24-bed Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit operating under a virtual integrated care (VIC) nursing model, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 6:1
• Monitor and care for patients with common diagnoses including CHF, diabetes, pneumonia, CKD, and general med/surg telemetry conditions
• Read and interpret telemetry strips; telemetry monitor techs are present on the unit but RNs are expected to independently read strips
• Manage care for patients requiring respiratory support including CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
• Float to all med/surg units as needed
• Adhere to manager-assigned scheduling, including every-other-weekend and holiday requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in the state of Texas or compact license eligibility
• Experience in Medical Surgical and/or Telemetry nursing
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry/cardiac strips independently
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Ability to work an assigned schedule; block scheduling is not available

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience caring for patients with CHF, CKD, diabetes, or pneumonia
• Familiarity with virtual integrated care (VIC) nursing models
• Experience working alongside PCTs and in a team-based unit environment
