About this job
Location: Warren, Rhode Island
Schedule: Year-round, part-time hourly to start, flexible hours
Pay: $17–25/hour, depending on experience
About the propertyWe're an 84-acre waterfront property in Warren, Rhode Island — open fields, woods, small gardens, and old stone walls. Our goals revolve around keeping the land healthy, beautiful and giving native plant species room to thrive. The property is owned and worked by an artist and farmer, and the land reflects both of those instincts.
The roleWe're looking for someone to help care for the property year-round. The work shifts with the seasons, but generally includes:
- General farm maintenance — clearing, mowing, brush work, trail maintenance, keeping things in good order
- Gardening, planting, and tending beds
- Caretaker duties, jack of all trades
- Light carpentry — repairs to fencing and structures, painting, etc.
- Tractor operation
- Care for backyard chickens
- Steady physical work outdoors in all seasons
Tools and equipment are provided. Prior tractor experience is helpful.
Who we're looking for- Someone with a real connection to the outdoors and nature
- A genuine desire to grow things and watch them come along over months and years
- Attention to detail and pride in high quality work
- Comfortable working independently, and comfortable working alongside someone with strong ideas about the land
- Able to handle physical labor: lifting, bending, walking uneven ground
If you have experience in farming, landscaping, conservation, carpentry, or land management, that's a plus. If you don't but you're capable, curious, and willing to learn, tell us anyway.
