About this job
Job Description
LA Has No Shortage of People Who Know Cards. We're Looking for Someone Who Can Put on a Show.
You've got Burbank Sportscards, live sellers, breakers, card shows and one of the deepest collector communities in the country around you.
So we're not looking for someone who simply knows what a Prizm Silver is.
We're looking for a personality.
Mount Olympus Rips is hiring experienced sports card breakers and hobby experts willing to relocate from Southern California to Plymouth, Minnesota and become part of our on-site live breaking team.
We're paying $50/hour + tips.
This is sports knowledge, sales, entertainment and the hobby all rolled into one job.
And no, this cannot be done remotely.
Our hosts break from our Plymouth studio because that's where the product is received, inventoried and prepared. That's where the streaming setup is located. And when a break ends, thousands of dollars in cards need to move accurately from the break table into sorting, packing and shipping.
You can't FedEx a case to California every time you go live and somehow recreate that operation remotely.
The Person We're Looking For
You can talk sports without reading from a checklist.
You know who's hot, which rookies collectors are chasing and why one parallel matters more than another.
You can recognize a monster card before chat tells you.
And when the room slows down, you know how to bring the energy back.
Experience on Whatnot or another live-selling platform is a major plus. So is an existing following. But personality, hobby knowledge and your ability to connect with collectors matter more than follower count alone.
What You'll Be Around Every Day
Wax. Slabs. New releases. Case hits. RPAs. 1-of-1s. Breaks. Comps. Sports debates. Collectors. And a team built around moving a serious amount of product.
If you've ever thought, “I wish sports cards could actually be my career,” this is exactly the kind of opportunity we're building.
It just happens to be in Minnesota.
