Position Summary
The Operations Leadership Manager is a leadership development position designed to prepare high-potential individuals for increasing levels of operational responsibility within Allied Group.
The individual will rotate through key departments to develop a broad understanding of Allied’s products, processes, customers, and operations. As they demonstrate capability, they will transition into managing an individual department and progressively take on responsibility for additional departments.
The long-term goal is to develop the skills and experience necessary to become an Operations Manager responsible for an entire building.
Essential Responsibilities
- Rotate through key areas of the business, including Operations, Warehouse, Quality, Order Management, Purchasing, Logistics, Shipping, and Accounting.
- Learn how each department operates and how departments work together to serve customers and achieve company goals.
- Develop strong knowledge of Allied’s products, systems, processes, and operational standards.
- Gain hands-on experience leading employees and managing daily operational activities.
- Develop skills in staffing, scheduling, productivity, quality, safety, inventory, and customer service.
- Analyze operational performance and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Learn to solve day-to-day operational issues and implement effective solutions.
- Coach, develop, and hold employees accountable for performance.
- Progress from supporting departments to assuming direct management responsibility for an assigned department.
- As leadership capability develops, assume responsibility for multiple departments.
- Prepare for future responsibility as an Operations Manager overseeing an entire facility.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Previous leadership, operations, warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Comfortable providing direct feedback and holding employees accountable.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and operational technology.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- PVF industry experience preferred.
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred but not required.
