An established intellectual property law firm in Whippany is looking for a Junior IP Legal Assistant to join its team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong administrative skills who wants to build legal experience and learn the processes behind patent prosecution and intellectual property work. Candidates with a paralegal certificate, legal studies background, prior law-office experience, or a strong interest in starting a legal career are especially encouraged to apply.

What You’ll Gain

You’ll have the opportunity to develop experience in a specialized area of law while working closely with attorneys and legal staff in a collaborative environment.

Approximately half of the role involves intellectual property support, including:

• Preparing documents for new patent filings
• Assisting with Office Action and IDS filings
• Supporting docketing and deadline-related work
• Helping attorneys and staff throughout the patent prosecution process

The other half of the position focuses on general office administration, including new client setup, mail distribution, ordering supplies, website updates, and helping keep the office running smoothly.

This is an ideal position for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and eager to learn.

Salary: Approximately $60,000+, with flexibility depending on experience

Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday

Hybrid: Four days in the office / one day working from home, after preliminary period

Location: Morristown, NJ area
