About the Role

We are seeking an accomplished and forward-thinking Director of Engineering to provide strategic and technical leadership for a growing organization. This senior-level position will oversee engineering teams, technical initiatives, project execution, and the development of scalable solutions that support the organization's operational and long-term business objectives.

The Director of Engineering will work closely with executive leadership, operations, project management, and other key departments to establish engineering priorities, allocate resources, manage technical risk, and ensure major initiatives are completed according to established quality, budget, and performance expectations.

This individual will also play an important role in developing engineering standards, improving processes, evaluating new technologies, and strengthening the organization's overall technical capabilities. The position requires a leader who can understand complex engineering challenges while also considering cost, schedule, operational impact, and broader business strategy.

The ideal candidate is an experienced engineering leader with a strong technical foundation, excellent business judgment, and a demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and complex projects. We are seeking someone who can provide executive-level direction while remaining engaged enough with engineering teams to understand challenges, remove barriers, and drive successful execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and direction across engineering functions and technical initiatives.
• Lead, mentor, and develop engineering managers, technical leaders, and engineering professionals.
• Establish engineering priorities, standards, processes, and performance expectations.
• Oversee complex engineering projects from concept and planning through execution and completion.
• Manage engineering budgets, resources, project schedules, and departmental priorities.
• Partner with executive leadership to align engineering strategy with organizational goals.
• Collaborate with operations, project management, procurement, supply chain, and other departments.
• Evaluate technical risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Identify opportunities to improve engineering efficiency, quality, reliability, and scalability.
• Support the evaluation and implementation of new technologies, systems, equipment, and engineering solutions.
• Establish and monitor KPIs related to engineering performance, project delivery, quality, and productivity.
• Ensure engineering activities comply with applicable standards, regulations, policies, and quality requirements.
• Participate in long-term planning, capital projects, expansion initiatives, and other strategic programs.
• Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the engineering organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline required; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive engineering experience with significant leadership responsibility.
• Previous experience as a Director, Senior Engineering Manager, Engineering Manager, or comparable technical leadership role.
• Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams and complex technical projects.
• Strong understanding of project planning, budgeting, resource management, risk management, and engineering processes.
• Experience working collaboratively with executive leadership and cross-functional departments.
• Proven ability to improve engineering processes, team performance, and project execution.
• Strong analytical and technical problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
