Description:

Job Summary

The Mfg. Maint Tech III is a seasoned technical individual contributor responsible for installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, validation, and modification of manufacturing and plant equipment. The role supports electrical, electronic, mechanical, optical, and vacuum systems while working with limited supervision and providing technical guidance to other employees.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform equipment installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and validation.
  • Support manufacturing equipment, tooling, and fixturing using appropriate machining approaches and CAD.
  • Diagnose equipment failures and identify defective components using standard electronic test equipment.
  • Interpret electrical/mechanical diagrams, schematics, drawings, specifications, manuals, and technical instructions.
  • Replace faulty components and restore equipment to proper operating condition.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance, service, repair, and qualification records.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, electronic test equipment, and other maintenance equipment.
  • Modify or redesign optical, vacuum, electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems for integration into manufacturing equipment.
  • Fabricate, assemble, install, test, and repair mechanical components, machinery, tooling, and fixturing.
  • Perform testing and troubleshooting of electronic and mechanical components and systems.
  • Conduct and document Preventive Maintenance and Qualification activities.
  • Perform quality assurance/control tests and procedures.
  • Collect, maintain, and analyze technical data using established formulas and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance and work processes.
  • Independently troubleshoot moderately complex technical problems and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support or lead minor technical projects, including testing, data interpretation, and technical reporting.
  • Assist engineers in developing technical solutions related to equipment and system performance.
  • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and training to lower-level technicians and other employees.

 

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of relevant technical experience, including hands-on experience, technical training, education, or certifications.
  • Broad knowledge of maintenance systems, troubleshooting techniques, tools, equipment, procedures, and technical documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, electronic, mechanical, optical, and/or vacuum systems.
  • Ability to independently interpret schematics, diagrams, drawings, manuals, and technical specifications.
  • Experience with equipment validation, CAD, tooling, and fixturing.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and exercise sound technical judgment.
  • Experience providing technical guidance, coaching, or training to other employees.

 

Education

No minimum education requirement is specified. Vocational training, technical education, or relevant certifications may be required depending on the position and location.
