About Dillsboro Automotive LLC
Dillsboro Automotive LLC is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to join its team in Sylva, North Carolina. Since 2009, this family-owned, community-focused repair shop has earned the trust of Jackson County through accurate repairs, clear communication, and a no-pressure approach to service. The shop combines modern diagnostic tools and high workmanship standards with teamwork, personal accountability, and a commitment to treating customers and coworkers with honesty and care. Technicians work in a heated and air-conditioned facility designed for year-round comfort.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair general automotive mechanical, drivability, and electrical concerns.
- Perform general repair, maintenance, and component removal and replacement.
- Complete digital vehicle inspections and document vehicle condition and recommended repairs.
- Perform diagnostic work covering approximately 20% of the expected workload, with general repair and maintenance making up approximately 80%.
- Use automotive diagnostic and scan equipment, including Autel, Bosch, and Snap-on tools.
- Service primarily domestic and Asian vehicles, along with some European vehicles.
- Work toward a production expectation of at least 40 billable hours per week.
- Collaborate with the shop foreman and technician team to maintain an efficient workflow.
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of professional automotive repair experience; the shop is targeting an experienced B-Level Technician.
- Ability to independently perform general automotive repair, maintenance, removal and replacement work, and routine diagnostics.
- Experience diagnosing drivability and electrical concerns.
- Familiarity with automotive scan tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Digital Vehicle Inspection experience is preferred.
- Ability to work the Monday-Thursday, 7:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m. schedule.
- Experience working on domestic and Asian vehicles is relevant to the shop's primary vehicle mix.
- Basic tool ownership required. Toolbox relocation assistance available.
Compensation & Benefits
- $20-$26 per hour guaranteed base rate.
