Department: Community Services/AOA
Job Title: Community Services/AOA Cook Staff
General Definition:
AOA Cook Staff is responsible for multiple opening and closing duties necessary for the timely set-up, preparation, serving, and delivery of elder meals. The highest level of customer service is expected from the person in this position.
Supervision Received: Community Services/AOA
Supervision Exercised: None
Essential Job Functions:
· Set up dishwasher room for daily meal service.
· Set up dining room and tables for meals with appropriate condiments are full and available and in the appropriate area for meal service.
· Fill silverware caddy on the counter.
· Wipes down counters, drink station and salad bar.
· Prepares up to 3 salads for the salad bar.
· Prepare and assist with serving of meals.
· Prepare carryout and elder meals.
· Alternates delivery of elder meals with other staff members.
· Cleans counters and faucet fixtures in all 3 bathrooms replacing paper supplies as need. Finishes with sweeping and moping the bathrooms.
· Refills stock items for the next day.
· Follows assigned prep work schedule for the next day’s meals.
· Shuts and locks serving and dishwasher room windows.
· Empty trash in the dining room and kitchen area.
· Ensures dining room area including tables and floors are neat, clean, and stocked for the next day.
· Performs other assigned duties and works harmoniously with fellow staff and the elder community they serve.
· Represent the Tribe in a professional manner at all times, when working with Tribal members, and in dealing with outside entities and in situations with fellow employees.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
· High School Diploma or GED and 6-12 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Required

· Able to multi-task and prioritize.
· Excellent verbal and written communication.
· Organizational skills.
· Detail oriented and able to focus on tasks at hand.
· Excellent customer service skills
· Respect for all Tribal Members, Tribal Officials, Supervisors, and Co-Workers
Licenses/Certifications/Other:
· Must be able to pass an adjudicated background check as a condition of employment.
· Must be able to complete pre-employment drug test with a negative result.
· Current valid driver’s license.
· Positive verifiable references and work history.
· Must take yearly spill prevention class when offered by tribal EPA department. Must pass class requirements to earn and maintain certificate.
· Must take food handler class as a condition of continued employment.
