CNA Hospice

Job Summary

We are seeking a fun, kind, compassionate, and skilled Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide in-home care for a 91-year-old, bed-ridden hospice patient who is post-stroke with a right leg amputation. The patient is cognitively aware and enjoys good company from a respectful, professional caregiver. Professional attire expected.  Our family deeply values a CNA who brings both skill and compassion to hospice care.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. 
• Safely transfer and reposition the patient using a Hoyer Lift (experience preferred; training available).  
• Lifting necessary to assist with out of the home appointments to doctors and other specialist.
• Take and accurately record blood pressure
• Assist with toileting and personal hygiene needs
• Prepare pureed meals according to dietary requirements and kitchen clean up
• Perform light housekeeping & garbage removal in home & to curbside for pickup 
• Complete laundry duties for the patient
• Provide compassionate companionship and emotional support
• Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment in patient areas
• Follow hospice care plans, safety standards, and infection control protocols
• Excessive Phone use not tolerated or paid for  
• Phone usage by the hired help expected during break times 
• 1 - 30 minute break and 1 -15 minute break is mandatory for the 12 to 10pm shift.
