Process Engineer

Spectra Tech, Inc. is hiring a Process Engineer in Richland, WA.

Position Overview

The Process Engineer will provide engineering support for process design activities, including development of process documentation, equipment sizing, performance analyses, and overpressure protection analyses.

Responsibilities

• Develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs).
• Develop Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Perform sizing calculations.
• Perform performance analyses.
• Perform overpressure protection analyses.
• Provide input for Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
• Support gas cooling and inert gas systems.
• Utilize AutoCAD for engineering design activities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of process design experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD.
• Experience developing and working with P&IDs in accordance with ISA 5.1.
• Experience with equipment sizing.
• Experience performing relief/overpressure analysis.
• U.S. citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with gas cooling systems.
• Experience with blowers and heat exchangers.
• Experience with inert gas systems.
• Experience with liquid-metal or molten-salt processes.
• Nuclear or DOE experience.
