Job Summary
The Heavy Diesel Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing heavy-duty diesel trucks and commercial trailers. This position performs preventative maintenance, troubleshoots mechanical and electrical issues, and responds to onsite and roadside breakdowns to minimize equipment downtime and keep the fleet safe and operational.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
* Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heavy-duty diesel trucks and commercial trailers
* Perform preventative maintenance, routine inspections, oil changes, filter replacements, and scheduled servicing
* Diagnose and repair diesel engines, electrical systems, air brakes, suspension, steering, and drivetrain components
* Diagnose and repair trailer brake systems, suspension, electrical systems, lighting, wheel ends, and structural components
* Travel throughout Arizona to perform onsite repairs and respond to equipment breakdowns
* Respond to roadside and emergency service calls as needed
* Use diagnostic equipment and shop tools to identify mechanical and electrical issues
* Identify potential mechanical problems before they result in equipment failure or downtime
* Maintain accurate maintenance records and document completed repairs
* Communicate equipment conditions, repair needs, and maintenance concerns to drivers and management
* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
* Follow company safety procedures and applicable Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements
* Travel out of town or out of state and work weekends when needed to support company operations
* Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
* Minimum 3 years of hands-on heavy-duty truck and commercial trailer repair experience required; 5+ years preferred
* Experience working on both heavy-duty trucks and commercial trailers required
* Strong knowledge of diesel engines, Class 8 commercial trucks, and trailer systems
* Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical issues
* Ability to independently perform repairs and preventative maintenance
* Valid DOT Medical Card required
* Valid driver's license required
* Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
* Welding, fabrication, mobile repair, and roadside service experience preferred
* CDL is a plus but not required
Work Environment & Location
* Position based in Marana, Arizona
* Ability to travel throughout Arizona and out of state as required
* Ability to perform onsite and roadside breakdown repairs
* Availability to work Monday through Friday, with weekends as needed
* Full-time position
