Job Description
Make a difference in the lives of elementary students by supporting their growth and success as a Special Education Teacher. This contract opportunity for the 2026/2027 school year is based in the scenic area near Half Moon Bay, CA. The position is full-time, working across two elementary school sites, each with a manageable caseload of 8-10 students. You will play an essential role in delivering individualized instruction and fostering an inclusive learning environment for students with diverse needs.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Mild to Moderate California Special Education Teaching Credential required
- Autism Authorization (AAAS) credential is mandatory
- Experience in elementary special education settings strongly preferred
- Ability to collaborate effectively with general education staff, support personnel, and families
- Flexibility and adaptability to work across multiple school locations
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to students’ needs
- Provide direct instruction and support tailored to students with mild to moderate disabilities
- Maintain accurate student records and progress documentation
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including paraeducators and specialists
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and supports
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom climate
