Job Description
Make an impact in the lives of elementary students as a Special Education Teacher in a welcoming school environment near Los Angeles, CA. With a manageable caseload and a flexible, part-time schedule, you’ll have the opportunity to deliver meaningful instruction to students in transitional kindergarten through fifth grade.
What you’ll bring:
- Valid, active CTC licensure with a Mild to Moderate specialization
- Strong background working as a Special Education Teacher in a school-based setting
- Enthusiasm for working collaboratively with students, families, and educational teams
- Excellent communication skills and a passion for individualized instruction
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to school/district guidelines
- Flexibility and creativity in adapting curriculum and instruction to diverse learning needs
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing tailored, standards-based instruction to a caseload of up to 10 students in grades TK-5
- Assessing student abilities, developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Collaborating with general education teachers and service providers to promote student achievement
- Communicating effectively with families regarding student progress and strategies for support
- Maintaining accurate records in accordance with school and district requirements
- Creating a safe, welcoming, and encouraging classroom environment
