Special Education Teacher in Hopkins, MN

Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

• Licensed Special Education Teacher with appropriate state certification
• Experience working with students with physical, cognitive, or behavioral disabilities
• Ability to interpret and implement IEPs effectively in gym and classroom environments
• Skilled in managing due process documentation
• Collaborative mindset, eager to work with adaptive teams and school staff
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver daily adaptive gym lessons tailored to students’ IEP objectives
• Teach two consecutive adaptive physical education classes each day at the high school
• Work onsite at the elementary school twice per week, delivering supportive classroom instruction
• Maintain accurate due process records and ensure compliance with special education procedures
• Partner with the district’s DAPE team and participate in multidisciplinary meetings
• Foster a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere where all students can thrive
