Job Description
Make a meaningful impact supporting students in a welcoming elementary school environment as a Special Education Teacher on a contract basis. You'll have the opportunity to work closely with a small, manageable caseload of TK-5 students, providing tailored support that helps each child thrive academically and socially. This rewarding role offers a consistent schedule—two days a week from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm—running through June 3, 2027.
Key Qualifications:
- Active California CTC licensure with Mild to Moderate authorization is required
- Previous experience working with elementary-aged students preferred
- Demonstrated expertise in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong communication skills to engage effectively with students, staff, and families
- Ability to foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
- Adaptable and collaborative, with commitment to best practices in special education
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and modifications appropriate to each student's needs
- Develop and maintain IEPs in compliance with state regulations
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and resource staff to provide comprehensive services
- Track student progress, maintain accurate documentation, and participate in team meetings
- Support social and emotional development alongside academic growth
- Build positive relationships with students and their families
