Special Education Teacher in Saint Paul, MN

This role splits time between a high school and an elementary school near Saint Paul, MN, giving you the opportunity to work with a range of age groups and needs. Collaborate closely with the DAPE team and other professionals to deliver high-quality instruction guided by each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP).

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher license
• Experience working with students with disabilities, ideally in both elementary and high school settings
• Strong understanding of IEPs and the ability to tailor lesson plans to meet specific goals
• Excellent organizational skills to manage documentation and due process requirements
• Team-oriented mindset with effective communication skills

Core Responsibilities:

• Plan, lead, and adapt daily gym and physical activities for students with varying abilities, based on their IEPs
• Teach two consecutive classes daily at the high school site
• Spend two days each week in the elementary school classroom, delivering specialized instruction
• Maintain accurate due process documentation and reports
• Collaborate with the district’s DAPE team and other faculty members to provide comprehensive support for all students
• Foster an encouraging, inclusive, and safe learning environment
