Special Education Teacher in Sunnyvale, CA

An exciting opportunity awaits a dedicated Special Education professional ready to make an immediate impact in a vibrant educational setting. We are seeking an experienced educator with strong skills in working with moderate to severe needs for a full-time contract role beginning August 13, 2026, and extending through June 8, 2027. This position offers a chance to support students in environments that promote growth and empowerment.

This role involves working across three classrooms, each focused on students with extensive support needs (ESN/moderate to severe). As an essential member of the team, you’ll provide individualized instruction and collaborate closely with staff to help all students reach their fullest potential. You will join a collaborative environment that highly values expertise, innovation, and compassionate teaching.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Active California Moderate/Severe Special Education teaching credential (required)
• Background in supporting students with moderate to severe disabilities
• Experience designing and implementing IEPs and differentiated instruction
• Strong commitment to inclusive and student-centered learning
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction and adapt lessons for a diverse group of learners with extensive support needs
• Develop and maintain IEPs in partnership with families and multidisciplinary teams
• Foster a supportive, structured, and safe environment for student growth
• Encourage student independence and facilitate access to the curriculum
• Collaborate with other professionals, paraprofessionals, and support staff

This contract position offers competitive hourly pay, ranging from $40 to $60 per hour, commensurate with your experience and certifications.
