Long Term Care Staff Pharmacist in Chicora, PA

This opportunity is tailored for a licensed pharmacist seeking a role in long-term care pharmacy with a contract-to-hire arrangement. The position is based in Chicora, PA, offering a dynamic environment supporting skilled nursing facilities, personal care settings, and hospice care.

Assignment Details:

• Duration: 3-month contract with potential to transition to permanent
• Schedule: 40 hours per week
• Pharmacy Hours: Monday - Friday, 8 AM – 6 PM; Saturday, 8 AM – 4 PM; Sunday, 8 AM – 3 PM

Core Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders entered by data entry technicians for various care facilities
• Check packaged blister-packed medications as well as sterile and non-sterile preparations
• Respond promptly to inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians, offering clinical guidance
• Accurately count and document controlled substances in the perpetual inventory
• Inspect and maintain emergency medication boxes

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution
• Active pharmacist license in the state of Pennsylvania in good standing
• Minimum of 1 year pharmacy experience; experience in long-term care preferred
• Physical ability to perform job tasks including sitting, standing, and lifting up to 30 pounds

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency with pharmacy operating systems such as QS1, Docutrack, and PCC
