Customer Service Representative

We are looking for a personable Customer Service Representative to join a small retail team in Monterey, California. This Contract position focuses on creating a welcoming in-store experience by assisting shoppers, guiding product tastings, and supporting daily sales operations. The ideal candidate brings prior customer service experience, strong communication skills, and comfort handling transactions in a fast-paced environment. This opportunity is well suited for someone who enjoys working directly with customers and contributing to a collaborative team setting.

Responsibilities:
• Welcome guests at the counter and provide friendly, attentive service throughout their visit.
• Explain products clearly, answer customer questions, and support sampling or tasting experiences.
• Prepare and fill product bottles accurately while maintaining presentation and quality standards.
• Process purchases through the register system, handle cash transactions, and ensure accurate checkout.
• Bag merchandise carefully and help customers with their selections to create a positive shopping experience.
• Work closely with a small team to keep daily operations running smoothly and efficiently.
• Maintain a neat, organized, and customer-ready counter and sales area during each shift.
• Learn store procedures through hands-on training and apply them consistently in day-to-day tasks.• At least 1 year of customer service experience, preferably in a retail or customer-facing setting.
• Ability to operate a cash register and manage cash handling with accuracy.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers in a friendly, detail-oriented manner.
• Comfortable answering questions, assisting with orders, and supporting both in-person customer interactions and general service needs.
• Able to work a flexible schedule based on business demand, including shifts that may vary.
• Willingness to work on-site in Monterey, California as part of a collaborative team environment.
• Detail-oriented, neat appearance consistent with a clean and presentable retail setting.
