Construction Project Manager (Heavy Highway / CT DOT experience REQUIRED)

Position Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Local to Canton, CT

Compensation: Ranging from $125,000-$150,000 depending on experience


A confidential construction organization is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in heavy highway construction and direct experience working on Connecticut Department of Transportation (CT DOT) projects.

This is a permanent opportunity for a motivated construction professional who is comfortable managing projects in a fast-paced environment, coordinating with multiple stakeholders, and visiting active jobsites as needed.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage heavy highway construction projects from planning through completion.
  • Coordinate project activities with owners, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, costs, documentation, and overall progress.
  • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders and address issues as they arise.
  • Ensure projects are completed in accordance with contract requirements, specifications, schedules, and safety standards.
  • Visit active construction jobsites as needed to support project execution.
  • Assist with project documentation, change orders, submittals, RFIs, pay applications, and other project controls.
  • Work collaboratively with field and office teams in a fast-paced construction environment.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of construction Project Management experience.
  • Direct experience working on CT DOT projects is required.
  • Heavy highway construction experience is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness and ability to visit construction jobsites as needed.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, project documentation, scheduling, and cost management.
