Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Nights)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Expected 36 hours/week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 22-bed Telemetry unit serving adult and geriatric populations with conditions including CHF, chest pain, ARF, COPD, uncontrolled diabetes, CKD, and post-cardiac cath care
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and EKG rhythms, applying critical thinking to identify changes in patient status
• Manage patient admissions and discharges efficiently while maintaining safe patient ratios of 5:1 or 6:1
• Administer and monitor basic cardiac drips and IV therapy using Baxter IV pumps and related unit equipment
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech EMR
• Float to Med/Surg overflow as needed; work every other or every third weekend (expected 12 hours of weekend coverage)

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (Associate Degree minimum; BSN preferred)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Minimum 1.5 years of experience in Medical Surgical or Telemetry nursing
• Must live 60 miles or greater from the facility to be eligible for the travel rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Meditech EMR
• EKG interpretation skills and demonstrated critical thinking in a telemetry or cardiac setting
• Experience managing admissions, discharges, and basic cardiac drip protocols
• Team-oriented, flexible personality comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
