Radiology Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION \n

The Senior Radiology Tech is under minimum supervision supervises and directs the activities of technologist working and/or rotating through the department 
\n including their discipline and performance while in that area. Completes established competencies for the position within designated 
\n introductory period. Other related duties as assigned

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES \n

\n
• Coordinates work flow within the department and other areas of the hospital to assure efficient service.
\n
• Provides protection to patient and self in accordance with prescribed radiation safety guidelines.
\n
• Implements protective measures to prevent patient injury due to thermal, electrical, mechanical, laser, chemicals and radiation sources 
\n
• Provides professional and technical guidance and confers with medical staff as appropriate
\n
• Assures availability and functioning of supplies and equipment
\n
• Enforces and adheres to personnel policies. Makes recommendations for hiring, firing and promoting staff 
\n
• Oversees and directs the Imaging students actions during clinical rotations; evaluates assigned students
\n
• Assumes the responsibilities of the department Director/Coordinator in their absence
\n
• Utilizes resources efficiently and effectively
\n
• Maintains safe environment
\n

JOB QUALIFICATIONS \n

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduate of accredited school of Imaging, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound or MRI
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Associate’s Degree 
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years technical experience. 2 years experience at supervisory level.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 2 years of experience at supervisory level
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologist 
\n (ARRT) or equivalent depending on specialty. Possession of current Texas Medical Board (TMB) license (if ARRT 
\n Registered in ionizing radiation)

REQUIRED COURSES/ COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR): Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life 
\n Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire
