Automation | Full-Time | Onsite – York, Nebraska

Cyclonaire is looking for an experienced Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Technician to join our Automation team in York, Nebraska. This hands-on technical role combines industrial automation, electrical systems, instrumentation, programming, troubleshooting, and field commissioning.

You’ll support Cyclonaire equipment from our manufacturing facility through installation and startup at customer locations. One day you may be troubleshooting a control system in York; another, you may be leading technical commissioning activities at a customer site.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide programming and electromechanical support for automated process equipment and control systems
  • Serve as a technical lead on commissioning projects
  • Troubleshoot equipment and provide technical direction to customers and service technicians
  • Assist with electrical design and programming for new equipment
  • Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and other system devices
  • Work with industrial automation controls, motor control circuits, VFDs, instrumentation, and industrial networks
  • Develop functional testing processes, procedures, and checklists to help ensure product quality
  • Assist with mechanical troubleshooting, equipment tuning, and repairs
  • Develop data collection and analysis systems to troubleshoot and validate system performance
  • Prepare technical design packages, including panel layouts, line diagrams, component schedules, and cabling schedules
  • Develop user manuals, training materials, and other technical documentation
  • Work directly with customers and Cyclonaire team members to solve technical challenges

The position provides advanced instrumentation, electrical, programming, and electromechanical support both in production and in the field.

What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or an Associate Degree in a technical field combined with a minimum of 5 years of related experience and/or training
  • Equivalent combinations of education and practical experience will also be considered
  • Previous plant electrical or electromechanical support experience
  • Strong knowledge of industrial automation controls programming, design, and troubleshooting
  • Strong understanding of instrumentation and control hardware/software
  • Familiarity with motor control circuits and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
  • Experience with industrial networking and network equipment configuration
  • Strong electromechanical/mechatronic troubleshooting skills
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
  • Strong customer service and communication skills

Software experience desired includes:

  • Allen-Bradley Studio 5000 and Logix 500
  • FactoryTalk View and FactoryTalk Optix
  • Modicon, Siemens, and Ewon
  • AutoCAD / AutoCAD Electrical
  • Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

The position requires frequent domestic and international travel, along with a valid passport, driver’s license, and driving record that permits use of company vehicles.

Work Authorization: Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employment visa sponsorship. Cyclonaire is not currently established to support sponsorship.

This position combines work at Cyclonaire’s York facility with work at customer sites in a variety of environments and conditions. Field assignments may include indoor and outdoor work, varying temperatures, and work at heights.
