Quality Assurance Manager

Reports to (title): Quality Systems Manager

General Description: Supervises team in implementation and daily execution of product specification testing, food safety and quality procedures.

·        Provides leadership across all food safety, quality programs and lab activities

·        Review documentation from the quality lab to ensure accuracy

·        Perform monthly chemical and expendable inventory to submit requests to QSM for ordering

·        Write, review and implement lab safety protocols

·        Maintain weekly microbiological sample submission program

·        Manages sample retention and evaluation program

·        Develops and trains staff on standards, processes and skills fundamental to food safety/quality

Education/Experience/Capabilities Requirements

• Previous supervisory experience in a food production environment required.
• Must have an understanding of GMP and HACCP.
• Must have proficient computer skills such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Strong interpersonal communication and oral presentation skills.
• Must demonstrate good leadership skills.
• Must have good technical reading and writing skills.
• Must have good math and analytical skills.
• Must be dependable and prompt with strong integrity and work ethic.
• Self-motivated, flexible and able to adapt to a fast paced, rapidly changing work environment; able to work well with others
