RAD TECH

The Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures on patients while ensuring accurate imaging, patient safety, and a positive experience for children and their families. The technologist prepares patients, operates radiographic equipment, positions patients appropriately, obtains quality diagnostic images, and follows radiation-safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform diagnostic X-ray and other assigned radiographic examinations.
• Prepare and properly position pediatric patients for imaging.
• Operate and maintain radiologic equipment according to established procedures.
• Obtain high-quality diagnostic images for physician interpretation.
• Apply appropriate radiation-safety practices and minimize patient exposure.
• Verify patient information and imaging orders.
• Document procedures accurately.
• Communicate effectively with pediatric patients and their families.
• Work collaboratively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff.

Education & Requirements:

• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Active, unencumbered South Carolina Radiologic Technologist license/certification, as applicable.
• ARRT certification/registration preferred or required depending on the facility's requirements.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
• Pediatric radiology experience preferred.
• Strong patient-safety and communication skills.
