Lead Boiler Controls and Commissioning Specialist

Location: Dallas, TX

You’ll be the go-to expert who ensures every boiler we touch is wired correctly, fired safely, and performing to spec. From the shop floor to customer sites, you’ll turn complex control systems into reliable, efficient operation.

What a typical week looks like
  • Lay out and wire controls and motors for watertube and firetube boilers, plus related auxiliaries.
  • Build and validate control panels using engineering wiring schematics and layouts.
  • Assemble and test fuel skids, condensate systems, and deaerators.
  • Trim out firetube and watertube units and prepare them for handoff.
  • Commission rental boilers on customer sites and verify safe, efficient combustion.
  • Rebuild control valves and regulators; determine proper trims, springs, and component sizes.
  • Set combustion on systems using pneumatic or electrical control architectures—across a range of boiler types, including units with superheaters, desuperheaters, and economizers.
  • Interpret blueprints and wiring schematics; troubleshoot effectively—even without full documentation.
  • Train teammates on boiler operations and controls best practices.
  • Maintain and inventory tools, analyzers, and monitors; support cross-functional projects.
Signing bonus
  • 1–5 years relevant boiler experience: $2,500 total ( $1,500 at hire, $1,000 after 90 days )
  • 5+ years relevant boiler experience: $5,000 total ( $3,000 at hire, $2,000 after 90 days )
What you’ll bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two (2) years of electrical troubleshooting/technical experience.
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
  • Proficiency reading and applying blueprints and wiring diagrams.
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude; able to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to diagnose systems even without the proper schematic.
Physical demands and conditions
  • Frequent stooping, climbing, bending, and crawling; ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Work in confined or elevated spaces; extended periods of standing.
  • Primarily plant and shop environments; safety orientation and PPE required.
  • Occasional brief exposure to unpleasant conditions; minimal contact with hazardous situations.
