BBA Afterschool Inc. is hiring an enthusiastic, dependable, and energetic After-School Basketball Coach to lead engaging basketball activities for elementary-aged students in New Carrollton, MD.

This is a great opportunity for a basketball coach, former player, youth sports instructor, teacher, camp counselor, college student, or anyone passionate about basketball and working with children.

Position Details

• Part-time, after-school position

• 1.5-hour sessions

• $37.50 per session ($25 per hour)

• Monday through Friday

• No weekends

• No lesson planning required

• Curriculum and equipment provided

• In-person position in New Carrollton

Program Focus

Coaches will teach students the basic fundamentals of basketball through fun and age-appropriate activities, including:

• Dribbling

• Passing

• Shooting

• Ball handling

• Footwork

• Basic defensive skills

• Teamwork and sportsmanship

• Basic game concepts

The goal is to help students develop fundamental basketball skills while building confidence, coordination, teamwork, and a positive attitude toward physical activity.

Responsibilities

• Lead engaging basketball sessions for elementary students

• Teach basic, age-appropriate basketball fundamentals

• Demonstrate skills and techniques clearly

• Encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, and positive behavior

• Follow BBA's structured curriculum and activities

• Create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment

• Supervise and engage students throughout each session

• Communicate professionally with school staff and BBA leadership
