A day in the roleAt 6:00 a.m. in our Thomasville, GA facility, you’ll step into a well-organized bay, review blueprints, and map out your first build. You’ll pull accurate measurements, square things up, and tack components in place. Through the morning you’ll run precision welds to our quality standards, use cutting torches as needed, and perform carbon arc gouging to refine joints. You keep your area clean, your PPE on, and your eye on safety—always.
Where and when you’ll work- Location: Thomasville, GA
- Schedule: 1st Shift, 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., with overtime as needed
- Lay out, position, align, and fit structural metal assemblies per blueprints and specifications.
- Operate cutting torches safely and execute carbon arc gouging with proficiency.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and process sheets with high accuracy.
- Use tape measures, levels, and related tools to verify fit-up, alignment, and dimensional accuracy.
- Perform high-quality welding and fabrication using established procedures and standards.
- Complete required ASME welding certification tests within the specified timeframe.
- Follow plant safety rules and help maintain a clean, orderly, and compliant work environment.
- Perform other tasks as assigned to support production flow.
- Technical training from an accredited school or at least six (6) months of related welding experience.
- Dependable, detail-focused, and committed to quality and safety.
- Lift up to 60 lbs. to chest height on a regular basis.
- Stand and walk on concrete for up to 12 hours (including overtime periods); frequent bending, stretching, stooping, squatting.
- Climb ladders up to 8 feet and work in areas up to 15 feet above ground; climb stairs as needed.
- Work in temperatures that reflect outdoor ambient conditions.
- Access all areas of the plant, indoors and outdoors; exposure to noise, dust, dirt, welding fumes, lubricants, and oils.
- Consistent and correct use of PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed shoes, and fall protection.
