Seeking a Compassionate PT Respiratory Therapist in Lewistown, PA
Impact to Health is seeking a compassionate and clinically skilled Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our mission of improving patient wellbeing through personalized, in‑home respiratory care. You will provide in‑home respiratory therapy, ventilator management, oxygen therapy guidance, and ongoing clinical support that helps patients feel safe, empowered, and cared for. Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct empathetic, in‑home patient assessments, ensuring patients feel heard, supported, and respected.
- Provide clear, compassionate clinical education to patients and caregivers on ventilators, oxygen therapy, and other respiratory equipment.
- Adjust ventilator settings based on patient needs and physician orders, prioritizing comfort, safety, and individualized care.
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot advanced respiratory equipment with patience and reassurance, reducing stress for patients and families.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of all clinical services and interactions to support continuity of care and positive health outcomes.
- Offer ongoing phone support and follow‑up care, providing calm, knowledgeable guidance during moments of uncertainty or urgent need.
- Participate in on‑call rotations and complete home visits as needed, delivering care with empathy and professionalism.
- Support the training and orientation of new clinical staff, modeling patient‑centered communication and compassionate care practices.
- Perform additional duties as required to ensure patients receive safe, reliable, and dignified respiratory support in their homes.
Work Schedule: Flexible
On-Call Duties: Able to respond if emergency call occurs
Requirements
Required Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or GED equivalent, required
- Active licensure in your primary state of residence as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT) or other acceptable medical credential (e.g., RC, RN, LPN, LPV) based on state licensure laws
- Willingness to obtain licensure in neighboring states if required by service area
Preferred Education and/or Experience
- Completion of an accredited program in respiratory care, nursing, or a related paramedical field
- Experience in home respiratory care or home healthcare
- Degree in respiratory therapy or a related science
- At least one year of relevant clinical experience
- Familiarity with medical terminology
Employment is contingent upon successfully completing a background check, drug screening, compliance onboarding, and credentialing requirements, as well as maintaining a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record when applicable to the position.
